Right now, things are tracking downward slowly for the hospitality sector – this is after an increase in the first period last year. This correlates with ONS figures showing that (after allowing for inflation) the market was not really growing at the end of 2023 compared with 2019.
On the other hand the most recent ONS Business Insights Survey shows that hospitality businesses feel their performance has increased this February compared with the year before. Why the discrepancy?
