Warnings of a second wave grows pressures once again

Last Wednesday, I was planning to write about how the foodservice sector, and its supply chain, has some things going for it.

After all, we’re seeing a pleasant extension to summer. And with children returning to school in huge numbers there are signs that, after six months of covid, life still goes on. By the weekend, events had taken a much more sombre turn with scary warnings about a second wave, growing pressures on frontline NHS services and partial lockdowns in about 15% of the country, with more to come.
