These were the words from the Chief Medical Officer on Friday.
What does this new world look like? Is it a world of constant uncertainty – where the lockdown rules change constantly? Is it one where decisions must be made about the trade-off between opening schools or allowing people to go to the pub?
I hope he is wrong. I fear he is right. But for how long?
