Will regional lockdowns drive change in national operating models?


The headline in the FT last Thursday read “Johnson set to follow Sturgeon’s lead with curbs on pubs in north”. The regions likely to be impacted account for about 5% of the UK restaurant and pub sector by food sales. The impact on the people, livelihoods and businesses is clearly cataclysmic. In this week’s briefing report, I take a look at what regional lockdowns could mean for operating models and what the longer term effect could be on national chains.
